I store my rice in bags, still in its husk for up to 6 mths, however, rice in the husk will store for more than one year, as long as it stays dry and out of the sun. I keep more than 800kg of husked rice (equates to 450kg of eating rice, more if I plant smaller grained rice) for family use and either sell or contact local authorities and present to poor families.
Three bags of rice are marked seeding for the next crop.

Hi, how do you keep those black bugs out of your rice during storage?

They say that you should freeze the rice to kill them.
In my case, I usually aerate them or buy them from a store that has their rice on display and not in sacks or plastic bags.

Re the black bugs - well, I freeze my rice, let it come to room temperature, then bottle if in jars - they say it will stay ok for 15-20 yrs. I'll find the link.

www.americanpreppersnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?f=340&t=3761Rice and other grains are best if you have the room to freeze for 72 hrs, thaw for 48-72 hrs, then freeze again. The first freeze will kill any adult bugs, but not eggs. The thaw allow the eggs to hatch but not reproduce, then are killed by the 2nd freeze. The oxygen absorbers will kill any adult bugs, but not necessarily the eggs that may remain dormant. To be honest, when we bought the majority of our bulk grains, rice, beans, etc., we didn't freeze most of it because we didn't have the freezer space. We don't store ground grain (flour, corn meal, etc.) long term, but if we buy any, we put it in the freezer as described above then store it in airtight containers. So far we have not had any problem with weevils or other critters.

Husked rice - the only issue is rats and they bite a hole in the rice bag, which is laid on to metal poles off the ground, and rice spills onto the ground. We have many traps set up and any edible rats get cooked.
De-husked rice - is kept in a 30kg plastic bucket with lid (not air tight). The rice bucket is filled only when empty and we have never had weevils or any other bug or critters eating the rice.

I've got my next project - freeze about 20kg rice, then that as above, then freeze again, then put into air tight bags for storage.
