I made this Short Spear approx 1.5m in length, blade is 2mm thick (purchased with the idea to use it for the spear), the wood component is re-constituted bamboo fibre, and four small bolts and hootchie cord to secure and strengthen the Spear.
The Spear will be taken with me camping for use against wild dogs etc. It also gives me added reach to cut higher branches. The Spear is used with spear techniques or bayonet fighting techniques. The hootchie cord at the base and in the middle are for holding and stops slipping.

Photo 3 - Left hand side shows different sized bolts that fit through the blade holes. Photo 4 - Right hand side shows the nuts. Photo 5 - Shows the forward half of the Short Spear. Bolts and hootchie cord can easily be used for other tasks if required and the plastic grip that originally came with the blade is carried in my car and can be refitted.
