Considerations for bugging out by any vehicle or by foot:
What is the 'Trigger' for a Decision to be made - flood waters at what height, first warning by authorities that a threat is imminent, warning by others that are departing, or you can bug out because your lifestyle allows you to bug out early.
Are you taking someone or a group with you? When do you warn them to prepare for bug out (when the 'trigger point' is reached, significant time beforehand because they are fully aware and will depart with you).
Have a Specific location identified.
Have Alternate locations identified.
Distance to travel = time taken and enough fuel/refueling or food consumption for journey.
What is the safest time to travel?
Route to be taken and any alternate routes.
Stops to be taken (stop and think, confirm actions, navigation check, way points/check points achieved, do you help others).
Actions on 'follow up' by others escaping SHTF. Actions by a threat follow up. Any other Actions On that are relevant to your bug out plan.
What environmental factors should be considered, such as flooding (roads and bridges washed away which happens in northern Australian), or road blocked by debris (trees or mud slide).
What man made considerations, road blocks (which I've seen for cyclone safety, normally for entry to an area but might lock you out from others in your group or from your prepps, or traffic or road closure through accidents.
Security on the move, security when stationary. Security on arrival at final destination?
