I finally decided to replace the bamboo mooring posts with PVC outer frame with re-enforced concrete inner. Two posts were placed, one at the front (portside bow) and one at the back (portside stern) to moor the boat.
Photo 1: The posts were made on the hard standing near my Tennis Wall (to make less mess near my gardens) 7 days prior to placing them into the water.
Photo 2: As shown half the post was prepared by setting in the 2m x 150mm PVC pipe. This also allowed for easier carriage. The total length for each post was 4m.
Photo 3: Overall photo of the post prior to placing it into the mud.

Photo 4: The posts are very heavy and awkward to get down the steps through the boat and then placed into a recently dug hole in the mud. I would have helped but someone had to take the photos!
Photo 5: These are the top halves of the posts, they slide over the bottom half and are then filled with concrete whilst the 'set' bottom half of the post is in the water. There is a mud digger near the posts.
Photo 6: After the top half of the post is placed over the bottom half and glued, it is filled with concrete, a bag is placed over the post to slow the setting of the concrete.
