When we are faced with SHTF and Post-SHTF scenarios, our meals would be usually made up with what we have on hand.
This thread is designed for you to post your recipes using the ingredients you have in your Preparedness Pantry. Please do not post comments so that the recipes will not be lost in the discussions.
I will be making a Living-Off-The-Land Recipes thread to cover preparation of meals using plants and animals in the wild.
Let me start of with a trio of good recipes I have done:
SPAM and Mushroom in Cream of Mushroom Pasta Sauce:
Sauce: 1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom 1 can Spam sliced 1 can sliced mushrooms
fry the spam then small dice fry the mushrooms, mix together with the spam Pour the cream of mushroom, add a bit of water.
Pour on top of any pasta you prefer (we used spaghetti at the time)
Pork and Beans (or Baked Beans) with Vienna Sausage: * This I cooked during my mountaineering days
1 Can of Vienna Sausages (about 7 pieces), cut up 1 Can of Pork & Beans (or Baked Beans)
Mix together and heat to blend. Serve with Rice or Bread
Note: You can also substitute Corned Beef for the Vienna Sausages
Porridge-Style Instant Noodles:
2 Packs of Instant Noodles 2.5 cups of water (about 500ml total)
Put all the ingredients together Bring to a boil. When it boils, remove from fire. Best served while hot
