Hi All,
This thread is where you can post your daily preparedness activities.
In this manner, you can also help others have an idea of what to do and what to prepare.

Nothing much, just did a current level check of stocks. Still got carbs (rice and pasta) for about 8 weeks.
Will be purchasing a solar charger with USB port and 2 more powerbanks.

Moved my extra food stuffs into the shed, and started a more accurate inventory of what I have ( not as much as I thought I had either).

Was in bed the whole weekend, recovering from a stomach issue. Must have been someting I ate last Friday. If that counts...
Even while in bed, did a check of my rechargeable batteries and powerbanks to make sure everything was fully charged.

Over the last few days I have been supervising the construction of a 120m fence around a small block. The main reason is to recommence food production of fruits and chickens. The food production stopped when people staying at the block moved in with me and helped set up my place. However, as in finance, I must diversify and have other areas producing food. Also the locals saw no one lived at the house block and took several dogs/cats/chickens for food. There are still a few days to go (using granite posts, brick footings, and wire mesh) and on completion I will provide details and photo's.

Strop, is that how things are there? If they see no people, they get the dogs/cats/chickens? I wonder if SHTF, it can be worse.
Opened a six-pack of soda that expired about 6 months ago. Put them in the ref and tried them out. No change in flavor. Still pretty good.

Rotated a few bags of rice - saw a video on long storage of rice - so have put 1kg in the freezer for 2-3 days, then will bottle it. Has a life of 15-20 yrs (so they say).
Continued my inventory of food stuffs - need more tinned veggies, but will try dehydrating frozen veggies and see how that goes.

Just be careful, jay. freezing rice will introduce moisture into the rice (although rice does have a 5% to 8% moisture content) and may result in mold and mildew.
Got 1 can tinned peas and 1 can of tinned garbanzos (chickpeas). Will try them out first before deciding to purchase more.

Yeah, I saw that - the video said to let it de-frost to room temp, then bottle with a vacuum sealed lid - I'll give it a go.

It's wet season - so couldn't get any trike (has to traverse narrow slipping tracks) to deliver sand, cement and stones to in-laws house to finish fencing. Got the Father-in-law to redo/check electrical continuity to the guest house.
One brother-in-law has moved back into the father-in-laws house now that his youngest son is walking. Have already stationed two dogs there. In summary for SHTF: people now live in the house (this will stop opportunists), there are other relatives living along the track and across the canal who do assist when asked, two dogs now reside there (more to follow), fence soon completed (the main culprit in animal disappearance is the nearest neighbor who lives 6m away and he's helping to put up the fence), have one dummy CCTV camera to mount in an overt location, and people are primarily Buddhists - believe in Fate and on 21 Dec 12 kept children home from school so the family could die together. Buddhists texts gave the same date as the Mayan Calendar.
I also did a little training with two new dogs I was given - because they are eating my plants. I now have two guard dogs mainly on leash and two dogs in training off leash. These dogs are at my house.

Maybe we misread the Buddhists, Mayans, and Anaasází predictions. Could it be 12/12/21? Hmmmm....
Nice to hear, strop, that some of the issues there have been resolved. Just read an article that Vietnamese people love eating cat meat while drinking beer.
